Adobe Receives Security Authorization for Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Connect

Adobe (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced that it has received Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP℠) Authority to Operate, a rigorous cloud security assessment for vendors that sell to the federal government. FedRAMP represents the future of digital government by providing a standardized, secure process of selecting cloud service providers that can be used across government agencies. The authorization for Adobe is sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services.

With this certification, Adobe is the first FedRAMP cloud service provider to deliver web content management, electronic forms with eSignatures, web-conferencing, eLearning, and document rights management, as verified by an independent third-party assessment organization. These services are delivered in a hybrid cloud architecture with Software as a Service (SaaS) capabilities from Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Connect.

Through this authorization, Adobe offers cloud security standards that are continuously delivered with ongoing updates and enhancements. Government now has access to the services that will increase operational efficiencies, reduce costs and respond faster to citizen, warfighter, or employee needs. These Adobe solutions enable government agencies to create outstanding customer experiences and become more efficient while securing mission-critical content across all devices.

“Security compliance is critically important in cloud services,” said John Landwehr, VP and Public Sector CTO, Adobe. “This FedRAMP milestone demonstrates Adobe’s capability to comply with the highest security requirements, while delivering engaging and efficient digital government solutions across devices.”

“Adobe has met the compliance requirements of the FedRAMP program,” said Frank Baitman, Chief Information Officer with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. “This authorization meets the varied business requirements of our operating divisions. It not only benefits these organizations within the Department, but other government agencies are also able to more easily utilize this security documentation and assessment for their own information technology projects. The FedRAMP program is creating greater competition among cloud service providers. With each new company achieving an authorization to operate, the cloud is maturing and becoming a secure and viable solution for government agencies and companies alike.”

FedRAMP is a government-wide program that provides a uniform approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. FedRAMP has standardized the process for federal agencies to demonstrate compliance with NIST Special Publication 800-53—a rigorous set of controls to safeguard federal information systems.
